Beautiful sunrise over Venango Valley on March 20, 2019
This week is a focus on LISTENING.
One of my favorite books is Proverbs. It teaches us how to live; it points to the wise patterns of life people have been living for thousands of years. It's not something trendy or popular... on the contrary, some of these wise sayings could be considered old or fuddy duddy (did I just say that?)
Spring is in the air and Maple Syrup is the sweet taste of spring. We took the kids to a few Sugar Shacks this past weekend in northwest, Pennsylvania, and had to detox from all the sugar! Maple cotton candy was our favorite by far. These images are from “How Sweet It Is” in Saegertown and Boylan Farms near Mosiertown. We passed by The Mossy Barn, and I made Dave turn the van around so I could get a photo of it. It spoke to me somehow. I hope you enjoy it!
The clouds were rolling in and I could tell it was going to be a good sunrise. I love waking up before Dave and the kids - grinding some coffee beans and enjoying quiet sips of caffeine while reading morning devotions. It sets the tone for the day.
This photo was taken March 8, 2019 from our front deck, overlooking the Venango Valley in Venango, Pennsylvania. When I imported it and begin to edit, Truett joined me and quickly took over. He adjusted the sliders and settled on THIS. And I just LOVE it.
"Dreaming Through The Lens"
We all view life through a lens, through each of our own perspectives. Sometimes we can zoom in and discover all the fine details and emotions. Other times, we are able to zoom out, and see the situation for what it is: what is influencing our decisions and causing our emotions. Wisdom is being able to recognize which lens we need for our particular situation.
Beautiful Edinboro Lake in the fall!
For an hour this morning, the light changed and moved… My five year old son Truett wanted to capture a few photos as well; he looked outside and said, “Mom! Get a picture of that!” And I told him to capture it himself (ha - parenting at it’s best!).
November is such a beautiful month in northwest Pennsylvania. You’re not sure whether or not it’s going to be snow-covered or the last of the peak colorful leaves season… I love the softness of these images; the lighting is gorgeous.
