Merriam-Webster defines trust as, "assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something."
Trust in the character of God. His ability to see your future. His strength to get you through another hour. His truth that cuts through all the crap you hear on TV or through gossip.
All of your heart - with everything you have - all of your mind, emotions, body.... from your toes to your tongue to the hairs on your head. Trust with all your heart.
Do not lean on your own understanding. You only have ONE perspective, and it's probably pretty warped - right? You could lean on someone else's perspective, but they are probably a bit skewed as well.
Yay- that was a happy little encouraging note for today! We're all screwed up! Don't trust anyone!
Ok - you're sensible; you know that's not really the heart of all of this. You know that there's been something you've been trying to figure out - for a long time... and you're trying to fix it. But you can't. And maybe if you just google searched it more - or asked more friends, you'd figure it out.
Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. - Proverbs 3:5.
