Our world is loud. Even when we turn off the TV, and the kids go to bed... our brains keep going. At least mine does. It takes effort to become quiet.
Becoming quiet takes practice and discipline. Just like we work out and eat right for our bodies to become healthy and strong.
Why don't we take the time to be quiet? Maybe we're scared of what we'll hear? Maybe the quiet would make us feeling things and hear things we've been avoiding?
My favorite quiet time is in the morning, before the kids are up. Maybe yours would be in the evening, 20 minutes before you fall asleep.
Find a time this week to get quiet. Really quiet. Then listen. If you're not sure what to listen to, take keep breaths, and listen to yourself breath in and out... It's a great start.
